Joel recently won some great awards --- I think he is now Poet Laureate of Lucas county or something.

Paul Many is now a novelist (picture books to YA novels).

Even though I had a film/video degree, I probably took more creative writing courses than theatre....

Joel was my God at that time! II took some classes with Many too--esp when I was a journalism major. I really liked Frank Krompak too. I did go to many poetry readings and stuff sponsored by the Toledo Writer's thing.

Did you take many creative writing classes? I took all I could.

I was on the six-year plan myself at UT. Did you ever have Matt Wikander? He was in English but he taught drama. He was awesome.

The MLS? I just missed one deadline--there's another in Oct. I'm starting full-time at the library when my job in preschool ends the end of this month. I do serials and a turn at the reference desk. If I like it as much as I think I will, I'll apply at Emporia State. Otherwise, Ill take my chances with an m.f.a.--or I might not put all my eggs in either basket!

I guess we were at UT at the same time! I was there from 84 to 90. I started out as a journalism major, took time off and came back as an English major. Ironically, I too work in a college library and am considering a MLS. they have a good distance program here in KS.
